Tri4Tim has raised over £11,000 from generous donations and the sale of branded merchandise.

Tim Jenkins passed away in December 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Tri4Tim was setup by his wife, Maddy, after he told her that “we all need to do more to help,” whilst bravely fighting his own illness, yet another example of Tim’s selfless and benevolent nature. Maddy Jenkins said, “Tim was my idol, the love of my life, my entire world; and starting Tri4Tim means that his wish can become a reality.”

Being the recipient of a kidney transplant 9 years ago, Tim was helped through his recovery by Transplant Sport UK, a charity that allows anyone who has had a transplant to compete in sporting events. Always a passionate athlete, Tim represented Britain at the Official World Transplant Games and won a plethora of medals and awards. This quickly became a cause he was dedicated to. Tim, Maddy and the children attended the Transplant Games every year where competitors, who in some cases had been ill their entire lives, were now enjoying competing against, supporting, and treating each other like a large extended family.

Tri4Tim’s focus is to give back to the cause that helped Tim with his recovery and the money raised will allow them to continue to help current and future generations of transplant recipients and their families. His wife and founder of Tri4Tim said, ‘the scale of our achievement to date has spurred us on to raise even more money for this amazing cause knowing that Tim is watching and will be proud of what we achieve for his transplant family. We have learnt that being active is an amazing tool to help with mental health and as Tri4Tim grows we want to encourage and help everyone get active too.”
