November 4, 2019 - November 9, 2019
From 4th-9th November 2019, The Society of Sports Therapists will be hosting the SST Transplant Sport Awareness Week. The aim of the week is to raise funds for the therapy team supporting the GB & NI athletes British and World Transplant Games. It is also to raise awareness of, and spread the word about, the benefits of transplant sport, organ donation and the NHS Organ Donor Register.
Members and Student Members of the Society are encouraged to take part in the week, as well as members of the public who would like to support the cause.
Sports Therapy students and staff at each of the 25 universities with which the Society collaborates are invited to take part in the Awareness Week. The Society will be offering a prize to the university that raises the most money during the week, so get planning!
The Awareness Week is also a fantastic opportunity for Members who work in clinics, sports teams or other healthcare settings to get involved in our fundraising. There are plenty of great ways to raise money for the therapy team – don’t be afraid to get creative!
During the SST Transplant Sport Awareness Week, be sure to take plenty of photos and videos of the fundraising activities you get up to and tweet them to the Society @TheSSTofficial, using #SSTTransplantSport to join the conversation.
Don’t forget that the Society will be fundraising for the whole of 2019 for Transplant Sport UK and to support the therapy team looking after the GB&NI athletes.

A fundraising toolkit will be available on the Society’s website closer to the week. If you have any questions or need further information, get in touch with Head Office on admin@society-of-sports-therapists.org
