Ten transplant recipient golfers teed off to take part in the Transplant Sport Golf Tournament on Tuesday 28 November. Held at Sandwell Park Golf Club, West Bromwich, the same venue from the British Transplant Games in Birmingham 2018.

  Golfers took on the eighteen-hole course in cold, wet and windy conditions, playing to win a trophy donated by MLS. Third place finishers won 3 golf balls, second place finishers won 6 golf balls and the winners won 12 golf balls donated by Donor Family Network and David Nix. In addition to this each participant was given a umbrella which was also donated from Donor Family Network and David Nix.

  In the women’s tournament it was close between the second and third place, with Nicki Detko finishing in 3rd place with 24 points. Denise James finished just ahead of her with 27 points. Sarah Viner, who’s spirits couldn’t be damped by the weather won with 36 points.

  In the men’s tournament it was even closer to determine a winner with 3 points between the winner and 3rd place. Simon Harris finished 3rd overall with 34 points. Being Simon by one point, Mark Baldwin finished in second place with 35 points. Take home the Transplant Sport Trophy and winning overall was Kashmir Singh with 37 points, adding to his overall victory Kashmir also won ‘Nearest the Pin’.
