The 45th edition of the Westfield Health British Transplant Games took place over the summer of 2022 in Leeds.

The unofficial capital of Yorkshire. A city at the heart of the action, bursting with life and cultural energy. A welcoming host for international sporting events, colourful carnivals, and a packed calendar of festivals and events. A skyline filled with breath-taking architecture, and a destination easily reached by road, rail, and air. Leeds was the perfect home for the games in 2022.

With over 1,000 competitors registered for the games and over 1,500 registered supporters across the weekend, Leeds was an incredible success. 25 sports were held across different venues across the city, which could not have been possible without the 250+ volunteers and key partners and sponsors who made the games a possibility.

The Games worked with numerous hotels amassing over 8,000 bed nights in the city across 4 nights, bringing an Economic Impact to the Region of £2 million. The publicity achieved by the Games in 2022 generated a Total Combined Media Reach of 3.3 billion.

Leeds also has many large parks and open spaces. Roundhay Park is the largest park in the city and is one of the largest city parks in Europe. The park has more than 700 acres of land to wander around. The city hosts a wide range of regional and major sporting events from the Leeds Marathon to Leeds Rhinos at Headingly Stadium with the world class First Direct Arena siting in the heart of the city centre providing a bursting home for live music, performances, and concerts.
